For over 15 years, I have worked as a stylist/educator within the beauty industry in Philadelphia. I treasures the skills, tools, and wisdom I learned over the years and aim to share these with my students.

I have been in the Industry for about 6 years. I have worked behind the scenes of the Brandywine Ballet Company, I've done specialty event hair and makeup, community events and photoshoots. I had the most fun working with some truly amazing professional cosplayers. I also worked for and managed high volume salons in the area. Ultimately, I discovered my true calling as an educator. After returning to my hometown of Philadelphia, I found The Beauty Institute and immediately I knew that this was where I wanted to be. I was fortunate enough to be interviewed and offered a chance to be on their team. I have never been happier! The students are amazing and are so driven and inspired, and the educators are so friendly.

What I love most about teaching are the students "ah-ha!" moments when information finally sticks. Their success brings me genuine joy.

My advice to the future professionals of the industry is to stay positive, surround yourself with creative and positive people, and find what truly motivates you to do what you love.

I love the beauty industry! I spent a year in a salon before working at The Beauty Institute. Since being here I have only gotten more passionate about this industry. I love my job and find it very rewarding to help people just like me realize that their goals are achievable. Outside of work, I love traveling and going to music festivals!

Before I began working for The Beauty Institute, I spent 10 years as a professional makeup artist. I am a licensed Cosmetologist, Instructor, Mentor, and Coach. I’ve been sharing my extensive knowledge and passion of the cosmetology industry with aspiring artists since 2003. I strive to develop a strong fundamental foundation in theoretical and practical procedures with each and every artist. I dedicate my focus to instilling lifelong soft-skill sets such as communication, five-star guest servicing, self-awareness/drive, leadership, and teamwork to all of my students. I believe these components are essential elements to achieving distinguished success throughout one’s career. The beauty industry is the most rewarding and gratifying career field; it is one in which you are able to give back and build others up on a daily basis. One of the greatest rewards of coaching new artists is watching them transform, grow, and prosper into successful, confident master artists. I take pride in helping other artists achieve their dreams.

Enamored by the fashion scene of the late ‘80’s, I burst onto the Philadelphia salon scene a quarter century ago. I had the opportunity to become a salon owner in South Jersey, and my salon featured a custom line of makeup and styling products. My longing to get back to Philly led me to salon management, culminating in district management for several large salons. Always desiring to give back to the industry I love, I began my career as an educator 12 years ago. My favorite part about teaching is having the chance to give opportunities to all who seek them.

I have been a Cosmetology Educator for 19 years. I’ve had the opportunity throughout my career to be trained and certified with many companies such as Goldwell, Wella, Framesi, Joico, Aveda, Tigi and Schwarzkopf Professional. Also, I have mentored and trained hundreds of Philadelphia’s budding hairstylists in the beginning of their careers.  While my strong suit is in Women’s Haircutting/Men’s Haircutting and haircolor/ombré/balayage/highlights/fantasy color, I love all aspects of cosmetology, especially major hair transformations.

I teach both cosmetology and esthetics at The Beauty Institute. I'm a certified instructor for Makeup Designory and CAO, and the lead hairstylist and makeup artist for a Philadelphia-based bridal company. I regularly attends classes to learn about the latest trends and newest products. I love helping people feel great about themselves and have had a passion for beauty as long as I can remember.

I have 16 years of experience in Higher Education, and I have been a School Director of multiple Beauty Schools.  I have also been a successful Director of Education for schools with both degree and diploma programs of up to 750 students. I have worked in schools in Ohio, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. I went back to school ten years ago to get a second Master's degree - in Higher Education - while working full-time. The best part of my job is getting to coach my staff and helping students grow so they can become amazing stylists and great assets to a salon. I love that no two work days are the same!

I started teaching at The Beauty Institute in June of 1984. After a few years of teaching cosmetology, I helped start the school's esthetics program. I was teaching both cosmetology and esthetics until about fourteen years ago, when I decided to drop cosmetology to focus on growing the esthetics department. Over the years, I've increased my knowledge of medical esthetics and have watched the program continue to grow. What I love most about teaching is sharing my knowledge and watching the enthusiasm and excitement among the students.

I am a passionate, driven teacher who has been in the cosmetology field for 5 years, and I've been teaching for two years. I graduated from The Beauty Institute, then practiced as an assistant for a short period of time at Salon La Blonde before moving on to my job as the only female stylist at Lace’d Unisex Salon. After working there, I came back to The Beauty Institute to become a teacher. Once I completed the program, I was hired and became part of the team. I’m currently certified in CAO cosmetics, Pravana color, Hothead extensions, Brazilian Blowouts and Balayage, along with many of my other skills. Ever since I was little I wanted to be a teacher, and I love it because no matter how frustrated the students get, if you stay on them to do better work, their anger inevitably turns into gratitude for never giving up on them.

I realized my passion for cosmetology at a very early age in Columbia, South America. Since then, I’ve become an accomplished stylist and educator. My passion for the industry has motivated me to compete in several competitions, such as City of Hope, where I won first place, and Bubblas Salon Competition, where I won third place. My work has been published in Philadelphia Weekly and Hairstyle Sophisticates magazine. As an educator, I love that I am able to influence and impact the lives of young men and women that also have the desire and motivation to become successful stylists.

Being a hairstylist/educator is more than just a job for me. My passion began at the really early age of 13, and I became officially licensed at the age of 20. I graduated The Beauty Institute in 2010 and shortly after opened my own salon. A few years later, I decided to start venturing from behind the chair and participated in hair competitions, styled for pageants, styled a season of New York Fashion Week, was an assistant director for hair for two seasons of Atlantic City Fashion Week, and did work for music videos. I then returned to The Beauty Institute for my educator's license in 2017 and graduated in 2018. Prior to being an educator at The Beauty Institute, I instructed and led several makeup classes for an international brand traveling along the east coast. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with my students and watching them grow into amazing stylists using the tools and steps I've taught them. My advice to aspiring cosmetologists is to do what you like and do it your absolute best, you'll have no regrets if it’s truly what you want.

I've worked in the cosmetology industry for 20 years. In 2007, I obtained my teacher's license and attended school to become a certified massage therapist and a makeup specialist. I've have certifications in multiple haircolor, hair cutting and hair extension systems, as well as three film credits for my hair and makeup work. I've taken full advantage of practicing and studying all aspects of the cosmetology industry so that I can educate today's cosmetology students on the latest trends and foundational information. I have a passion for working in both a salon/spa environment and in the classroom. The most fulfilling part of being a teacher at The Beauty Institute is seeing students graduate. It's great to see how far they've come since day one, to know that they will continue to pursue their dreams in this amazing industry, and to reflect on how I was a part of the team that helped them get to that point.

“I can’t believe I just did that...” was the thought that ran through my mind when I first enrolled at the Beauty Institute. It was that moment I realized everything was about to change in my life. Embarking on this journey in the cosmetology field has been about so much more than creating beauty. It’s about being able to use my skills to help others feel better about themselves and helping people see their inner beauty reflected outward.

After stretching my legs out in the salon side of the industry, I knew there was something more I was destined to do. My purpose became clear when I enrolled in the teaching program at The Beauty Institute. Again, uncertainty and anxiety came over me, but I knew this was the next step for me. The way the instructors guided and inspired me resonated so deep in my heart. I wanted to share that same inspiration with others. What I grew to love was sharing knowledge and ideas with others that love this industry as much as I do.

Teaching has changed my life. I have grown into a person I never expected to be. Being able to watch my students learn skill sets, perfect their style, and have moments of clarity is the reason I wake up each morning knowing that I am going to have a good day and that I love what I do. Seeing their growth through the "ah-ha" moments make all the harder days worth it.

To all the future stylists, instructors and creators, whenever you have a day you think you can’t get through, remember that life is like a roller-coaster: it’s only fun with the ups and downs. You will always have to change and learn in this industry, but that's what makes us some of the most resilient people in any industry. As we change we grow, and as we grow we can aspire to inspire.

I’ve been in the beauty industry for about 5 years now! I’m a licensed cosmetologist, licensed cosmetology instructor, and a MUD certified instructor. I’ve done some fun things like doing hair and makeup for plays, crazy Halloween makeup, bridal hair and makeup, and working on everyday styles for people as well. I have been teaching for a year now, and I’m loving it! It’s amazing being able to share knowledge and watch someone grow into the best professional they can be! If you ever thought the beauty industry was for you, I would say take the leap! It’s a fantastic feeling making another person look and feel amazing.

I graduated from The Stroudsburg School of Cosmetology in 2003 and got my cosmetology license, and then I worked at Avanti hair studio for 14 years. I enjoyed cutting, perming, waxing, manicures, and pedicures, but most of all I loved coloring. In March 2018 I graduated from the Beauty Institute’s Cosmetology Teacher Program and got my instructor's license, and then began working full-time as an instructor here in November 2018. I love teaching because I enjoy helping people fulfill their dreams and become great at what they are trying to achieve. If there is one thing I would like my students to always remember, it is that in life you get out what you put in, and if you always put in your best you will get nothing but your best outcome. Live life in a positive way and you’ll become successful!

I am a native of North Eastern Pennsylvania. I was born in Saylorsburg and grew up on a farm, then later moved to New York to pursue a career in cosmetology. I worked in various aspects of the industry, from working as a freelance makeup artist to working in a 50 seat salon in Long Island for many years. I returned to my home in PA to be closer to my family and became an owner/operator of Salon Steven Michael. After many years, I decided to continue my education, as I had developed a desire to help others in the field I love. Upon graduating as a Cosmetology Instructor, I began working part-time in a corporate salon environment where I continued to learn and grow while gaining more hands-on experience. Now, I enjoy the challenges of teaching in a school environment and the one-on-one client experience that brought me to the cosmetology industry.

I have always had a passion for the beauty industry. As a Color and Cut Specialist, I have been a big part of the Beauty Institute team, always eager to learn more and help others learn as well. As the Director of the school, I oversee all aspects of the business, but I am an educator at heart, and I take pride in sharing my knowledge and experience with my students. My multicultural background brings a unique quality to the table that has enabled me to relate and connect to a variety of people. The most rewarding part of my job is guiding my students as they achieve successful, great careers.

Agnieszka Dziedzic | Financial Aid Advisor

I love what I do simply because I like seeing people succeed when they follow their hearts and dreams. It's very rewarding to be a part of a great team that creates a better tomorrow by helping our students grow and become successful. My son is my motivation to strive to be the best version of myself on a daily basis, and hopefully I do the same for our students when I help them to find their drive to stay on the right path while they're in school. It takes a village to raise a child, but it takes The Beauty Institute to raise a great cosmetologist!

Bobbi Bond | Educator

I have been a stylist in the industry for over 25 years. I became an educator a short time ago because I wanted to share my passion for the beauty industry with others. I never imagined how wonderful it would be to work with such a strong, dedicated teaching staff that cares solely about what is in the best interest of the students.

I am the Clinic Floor Coach at the Beauty Institute in Stroudsburg, and I love watching the students gain confidence in what they create on the salon floor. To see their inner artist shine through while servicing the public is so rewarding! We learn daily from each other and strive to be better people and stylists by priding ourselves on quality work. Our goal here is to make the world beautiful, one head at a time, and we are succeeding quickly at that. If you are ready to unleash your inner artist, the beauty industry is definitely one of the most rewarding!

I am still a hairstylist as well as an educator, and I love what I do more and more everyday! My advice to all of my fellow stylists: “Never stop learning” and “Never lose your sparkle!” Positive is powerful, so if you believe it, you can achieve it!

Kadi Torres | Guest Service Coordinator

I have worked in the health and beauty industry for the past 10 years. I am a licensed massage therapist in Tennessee, and hope to finally transfer my license to Pennsylvania this year. I love to help people to look and feel their best. I have worked at the Beauty Institute for almost two years as the Front Desk Coordinator. My favorite thing about my job is helping our clients feel welcomed and comfortable when they arrive for their appointment. Knowing that they are special and not just another person is a huge part of having a great experience, and I am happy to be able to provide that feeling! I love that our team truly enjoys what we do, and we all work well together. In my down time I enjoy having fun with my husband and son. We like watching movies, golfing, and being outside together. I love to read and enjoy trying anything artsy at least once.
